Disclaimer: this is my personal view on the storm that we are creating in the mental health space and is by no means a judgement of those who have spent careers researching and practicing clinical disciplines related to mental health and also this is not a judgement of those people who may read this and are now or in the past may have been diagnosed with some level of mental health issue.
My Request: as you read this do not be quick to judge me for what I have to say – it is not your position to assume or speculate as to whether or not I have been subject to the defined mental health related issues over my life time. Look and read the following without the eyes of your judgements that are fueled by your bias, by your experience and by how you respond to the accepted norms of society. Thank-you for making this consideration to allow yourself for a moment to live your life judgement free – see my explanations in the rawest form and imagine the questions you would like to ask in response.
This is a WAKEUP world moment, a conversation that has been happening for me internally for the past few years as I have grappled with whether or not I was a person who was slipping into the categorisation of people that are diagnosed with mental health issues – ie. was my life dealing me a hand that I could easy accept places me in a stressed mental state. This state is validated as a result of society conditioning me to believe so and clearly supported by many in a similar sate, I could just join that label and be vindicated of my change in behaviour of my lack of motivation – I said HELL no me won’t go.
I did not know HOW to refuse the label, but I did know WHY – somewhere deep in me is buried this fighter, the inner person that when the chips are down rises up and says NO MORE, get your shit together, be the best version of yourself and, keep stepping forward, keep stepping up – this is driven by my investment into exercising and build my mind muscle.
Where does this inner person come from – that is unique to all of you, it is there for all of you and for some of you it is ridiculously traumatic, and for that you are stronger, you are stronger than you have ever seen yourself be; you will amaze yourself and you will want to share it with others – there are lots of these stories in the world. These people are not special; they are just dedicated to maximising the power of their mind to triumph in life.
What I know about me is that I cheated death on a couple of occasions; I was put in this universe to fight for life (so I do) and now I realise more than ever before that the fight is not just for my own life, it is also a fight for all of YOU – give you inspiration that your success lies at the beginning of your own mindset fitness – it is my mission to bring this to the attention of millions of people.
Mental health is an under performing mindset.
A person who chooses the label of mental health issues is accepting their under performing mindset.
There is no such thing as a mental health issue – this is the label used to describe a state of mind performance which is not up to the task of managing the shit that is going on in your life. You have been met with overwhelm and for a brief moment you feel like you want to dig in and fight – but your simply do not have the resources to make this happen. The resources that allow your mindset to gear up and define for you what are the actions you need to get done to win this internal mind battle. Don’t give in, get interested in your life, get your mind working for the solution instead of getting comfortable with the label.
The mindset resources people have has become less and less available to them both in quantity and quality – WHY? Sometime through the decades, centuries of our society people have become more comfortable being attached to a categorisation (the label) rather than seeing their life for what it is – a reality for them to manage, to take control and to take action conquering the trials and tribulations you face. Attaching to the label is easy, it is comfortable; using the mind muscle for solution ... well you may just not have it; not entirely your fault. The fact that society validates the labels has taken people to the easy place and therefore the mindset muscles that used to take care of this stuff in life are weak or none existent – you need an upgrade – you need to go workout your mind muscle.
It is time to be mindset fit … invest in building the power of your mind to progress any situation that you face. You have the solution for everything; but because the attachment to mental health appears as the easy solution, people are making that choice first. They feel a greater acceptance to join the crowd and believe that through the crowd you will heal – groups getting together to talk about the problem … NOT MINDSET FITNESS … groups getting together to forge a shared solution and give energy to one another to take action … that is MINDSET FITNESS.
Joining the crowd also puts people together with a bunch of sympathies who will do nothing to move you on from where you are – you need progress, the longer your mindset stays where it is accepting the position that it is tough, the more difficult it becomes to build the courage to go and invest in getting yourself mindset fit.
Do not fall foul to the lure of label and find yourself wallowing in the unresourceful depths of your life?
Do not believe that your mind is not powerful – trust in the ability. Your mind took your to where you are and it is has the power to reverse those decisions and progress you forward.
Reach out – find the service providers (people) who can guide you to fill in your gaps in resources. Select people who know how to get you to exercise your mind – this is not a fix-up job, this is a job that delivers long term sustainable progress.
Accepting the label is taking the solution that society has you believe is the truth, and you then shape your beliefs to match – you are doomed until you reach your lowest threshold tolerance – then you will take action, but most likely you will not get all the way out the first time – WHY? you reach out to the fixers of minds, not to the progresses and builders of sustainable resourceful mindsets.
You might read this then take a look at my social media profile and think well it is easy for you to say – look at the success you have had in life. That is a judgement, as any perception you may have of my success or that of another is just your perception. In all life there are hard fort victories of showing the mind who is boss, showing the mind that you are the one has got this shit under control; showing the world that no label will contain your passion to have the biggest life and greatness impact that you are capable of delivering.
The people you see as successful … do you really believe that they never had moments where a lesser mindset could have been their doom … the successful people invest in their mindset fitness.
Hey I could be all WRONG …
but what if, what I have just put in front on you
